Feeds4all Quality improvement

Yesterday Feeds4all started a quality improvement programme in order to bring the content to a higher level. On the feed submission page the approval policy is explained:
November 19th 2005: Feed inspection and approval
Beginning today submitted feeds pass after approval. The approval procedure will take place as soon as possible. Approval or rejection will take place without notice. Feeds are rejected in case :
  • the language is not English, French, German, Italian, Spanish or Dutch
  • the feed name, feed description or feed items contain content that is offensive, outragious, debatable, doubtful or questionable
  • the feed belongs to sites or other web resources about or connected to: casinos, brokers (real estate, horse races etc), stock markets, auctions, pricewatches, sex, porn, rent, debts, shops, malls, mortgage, all kind of stores (online and offline), service providers, software suppliers, software distributors, forbidden organizations, etc.
  • the feed serves content that has a very short 'lifetime' (for instance exchange rates, stock exchange information, temperatures, real estate prices)
  • the feed serves any other content that in our opinion is not tolerable
The process of removing content that does not match to our acceptance criteria is running permanently.
Up till now this resulted in the removal of about ten thousand (10.000) feeds and over one million (1.000.000) items.
